ARE Online Scores
Candidates may obtain their ARE scores online.
Candidates will need to provide either their Board ID number (the Board assigned number displayed on all correspondence received from the Board) or their Prometric Testing ID number (Prometric assigned number used for scheduling divisions of the ARE, including any leading zeros) and their full last name to view their scores online. Examination results will not display if both numbers are used or leading zeros are not included.
Scores are updated regularly. Only results for exams taken since January 1, 2010, are available online. Paper ARE Score Reports are typically mailed to candidates within five to seven business days of receipt by the Board. Duplicate ARE Score Reports are available for failed ARE divisions. Candidates may receive a duplicate score report for a failed ARE division by sending their request in writing to the Board's email (cab@dca.ca.gov) or to the Board's mailing address. Requests must include: the candidate name; either the Board ID or Prometric Testing ID number; the specific division needed; and the exam date in order to be processed. Additionally, if there has been an address change, then a Change of Address form must also be included with the request.
The scores displayed online are valid, accurate scores provided by Prometric and verified by NCARB. California law does not permit candidates to review their examination solutions, or to appeal (challenge) their examination scores.
