Architectural Experience Program (AXP)

After Completion

Candidates required to complete the Architectural Experience Program (AXP) must request National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) transmit their AXP Record to the Board. Candidates will also need to complete all divisions of the ARE. Once a candidate has successfully completed the ARE, NCARB then notifies the Board.

NCARB does not automatically send AXP Records to the respective boards.

Candidates will be mailed a notice of their California Supplemental Examination (CSE) eligibility status once all required documentation has been received and processed by the Board normally within 30 days of receiving the NCARB results. Eligible candidates will be mailed a Notice of Eligibility and an Application for CSE. Those who receive a Notice of Ineligibility will be provided with details on what is required to become eligible for the CSE.

Candidates who have not received a notification within the times indicated may contact the Board to inquire on their status.
