Relative to the California specific codes and regulations, candidates should be familiar with the California Environmental Quality Act and the California Coastal Zone Conservation Act, regulations related to essential services buildings, historical buildings, accessibility for the disabled, energy conservation, and the contents of Title 24, the California Building Standards Code, which contains 2007 California Building Standards Administrative Code, 2007 California Building Code (includes the 2006 International Building Code), 2007 California Electrical Code (includes 2005 National Electrical Code), 2007 California Mechanical Code (includes 2006 Uniform Mechanical Code), 2007 California Plumbing Code (includes 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code), 2007 California Energy Code, and 2007 California Historical Building Code.
Candidates should also be knowledgeable about and understand the California Design Professionals’ Liens and the Mechanic’s Lien Laws, the use of the Notice of Completion, and the California Architects Practice Act.
