Retired Architects
An architect may retire (cease the practicing of architecture) their license any time while the license is current and prior to the license becoming cancelled. A license is cancelled when more than five years has lapsed since it was last renewed. Cancelled licenses cannot be renewed or retired. Individuals with cancelled licenses must go through the relicensure process to obtain a new license prior to retiring it.
An individual with a retired license may not practice architecture. A license can be reinstated if it is not more than five years since the license was renewed. Reinstating a license that is not cancelled is done by paying all accrued and unpaid renewal fees to bring the license current including any delinquency fees.
To retire a license submit the following:- Completed Application for Retired License
- $300 application fee
- Delinquent renewal fees (if applicable)
