NCARB Record Required to Take ARE

Last year the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) launched My Examination, a new portal for candidates available within their NCARB Record. Candidates now have a one-stop method by which they can view eligibility information, schedule divisions, receive results, and view rolling clock dates and examination history. My Examination also affords NCARB a means to contact candidates via informational emails about important changes or updates related to the ARE.

ARE My Examination

With the launch of My Examination, ARE candidates are now required to possess an active NCARB Record in order to access its services. Candidates who are required by the Board to complete the Intern Development Program (IDP) will receive this access free of additional charge. If candidates exempt from IDP establish an NCARB Record before August 2014, they will receive the first year of service free. Afterwards, a $75 annual maintenance fee will be charged to establish an NCARB Record.

Candidates who took ARE divisions 1997 or later will need to link their Prometric examination history to their new My Examination record. This may be accomplished by contacting NCARB and providing its customer service department with the Prometric Testing ID Number from their Authorization to Test (ATT) letter. Candidates who have misplaced their ATT letter may contact the Board to obtain the number.

For more information, contact the Board at (916) 574-7220 or email.
