Architect board member Barry L. Williams finished his tenure with the California Architects Board (Board) on June 30, 2019. Williams was appointed by former Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr., on December 18, 2014. An active board member, Williams served on the Professional Qualifications Committee and the Regulatory and Enforcement Committee.

Williams earned both his Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly). He has been principal architect and owner of Barry Lorenz Williams Associates since 2010, where he was principal architect and owner from 1981 to 1998 and has been a lecturer at Cal Poly since 1979. He was a principal architect at Westberg and White Inc. Architects and Planners from 1998 to 2010 and was a research analyst and professional liability specialist at Design Professionals Insurance Company from 1995 to 2001. Williams is a member of the Cal Poly College of Architecture and Environmental Design Foundation.
